    The Indian market traded lower on Friday, tracking muted global cues. The S&P BSE Sensex fell more than 100 points while the Nifty50 slipped below 16,800 levels in the first 15-minutes of trade.

    Sectorally, realty, IT, oil & gas, auto, energy, and banks saw some selling while some buying was visible in metals, telecom, and FMCG stocks.

    The Nifty weekly contracts have the highest open interest at 17,000 for Calls and 15,000 for Puts while monthly contracts have the highest open interest at 18,000 for Calls and 16,000 for Puts.

    “With the bounce off 16,860 fizzling off in the face of rejection trades, the next leg of the downsides aiming 16,650/600-16,300 is in motion,” Anand James, Chief Market Strategist at Geojit Financial Services, said.

    “Reversal plays are expected to take shape on achievement of 16,300, but we will be equally prepared for upsides, should Nifty Manage to float above 16,770 today after early slippages,” he said.
