Share market updates: Bank shares rise; Kotak Mahindra Bank gains 2%

NEW DELHI: Bank stocks were trading higher on Monday's morning session.

Shares of Kotak Mahindra Bank (up 2.16 per cent), State Bank of India (up 1.97 per cent), Bank of Baroda (up 1.65 per cent), IndusInd Bank (up 1.34 per cent) and Punjab National Bank (up 1.07 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While RBL Bank (down 4.6 per cent), Bandhan Bank (down 1.07 per cent) and Axis Bank (down 0.01 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

The Nifty Bank index was trading 0.93 per cent up at 21957.3 around 10:37AM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 95.10 points at 11309.15, while the BSE Sensex was up 292.25 points at 38332.82.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 35 were trading in the green, while 15 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, BHEL, BEL and Tata Motors were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
