Gold Rate Today: Gold silver trade higher in morning deals

NEW DELHI: Precious metals gold and silver were trading in the green in the late morning deals on Tuesday.

MCX Gold futures were trading 0.10 per cent, or Rs 31 higher at Rs 29,660 per 10 grams at 10:57 am (IST), while MCX Silver futures were up 0.14 per cent, or Rs 15, at Rs 37, 950 per 1 kg at the same time.



SPDR Gold Trust GLD, the world's largest gold-backed exchange-traded fund, said its holdings
stood at 788.71 down 6.19 tonnes, from the previous business day.

Holdings of the largest silver-backed exchange-traded-fund(ETF), New York's iShares Silver Trust SLV, stood at 10274.31 up 32.18 tonnes, from the previous business day.

Nirmal Bang Securities in daily commodity report says, "We expect prices to trade rangebound to lower for the day, as a firmer dollar and expectations for further interest rate hikes by the US Federal Reserve offset US 'snapback' sanctions targeting the purchase of precious metals."

On the global front, gold prices edged up in the early trade.
