Gold Rate Today: Gold prices jump on positive global trend

Gold prices rebounded on Monday from a near four-month trough hit in the previous session as investors resumed trading after the Easter holiday, with the bullion gaining further traction on higher crude rates, Reuters reported.

Weakness in the equity market also boosted the demand for safe-haven metal whereas rupee's fall against the US dollar offered further impetus.



Silver prices also surged on heightened demand by coin makers and industrial units.

The MCX Gold was trading at Rs 31,700 per 10 grams, up by Rs 237, while MCX Silver was trading up by Rs 292 at Rs 37,522 a kilo around 11:40 am.
